Before their first day
- Ensure all drivers complete their onboarding process and undergo background and toxicology checks
- Verify and collect all required licenses and documents for the driver’s role
- Provide and collect all necessary onboarding paperwork, such as contracts and payment informationSend them the induction schedule before their first day of work
- Send out the contract and other driver documents that need to be signed
- Check that they’ve signed the paperwork and have accessed, read and acknowledged company contracts and SLAs
Workforce
- Let the team know about a new starter
- Order appropriate access keys/security cards to the depot and make sure they work
- Arrange for parking if required
- Prepare the driver’s van if required
- Perform a thorough inspection of the driver’s vehicle to ensure it meets safety standards and company requirements
First Day
- Give them a tour of the depot and introduce them to new drivers
- Set up the driver with any digital tools or applications required for communication, navigation or route scheduling
- Familiarise the driver with safety protocols, emergency procedures and reporting process
