Bit about you
I’m a lifelong Formula 1 fan and love to watch other motorsports like MotoGP and the WEC. I’ve been to a few races here and there and am looking forward to going again at some point. I play chess a lot in my spare time, still only an average player for now but slowly getting better.
What is your role at Wise?
I’m a Backend Software Engineer on the Operations team, primarily working on the onboarding part of the system.
What does that involve?
On an average day I will be working on upcoming features and projects, or making fixes and improvements for old ones.
What do you enjoy most about working here, and what motivated you to excel in your role?
The friendly atmosphere and the collaboration with everyone. It feels very easy to go and ask questions and work with anyone else. My motivation is and always has been to be better than I currently am each day, even if only by a small amount, and just to be as good as I can be while maintaining a healthy balance.
What’s the culture like at Wise?
The culture as Wise is very friendly, everyone gets along with each other and it feels like quite a relaxed atmosphere most of the time. I think the amount of charity events/fundraisers that have taken place recently is incredible and representative of how much everyone cares about others.
What’s your favourite memory since working at Wise?
I think it has to be one of the first socials I went to at Wise which was at Flight Club in Birmingham, it was really fun, and it turns out that having not played really ever before that I’m actually quite good at darts after a couple of beers!
