Three months into 2023, a lot has been going on at Wise. So, we thought we should reflect on everything that has happened so far!
Recognised as a UK Best Workplace for Wellbeing
We were recognised as a UK’s Best Workplace™ for Wellbeing by Great Place To Work UK.
Our ranking on this prestigious list was determined by our annual employee engagement survey, which gauges how satisfied everyone at Wise is with the culture we’ve created together.
We’re always looking at ways in which we can support the mental and physical wellbeing of our employees, so it was fantastic to see this being recognised externally.
Talk TV
In January, we partnered with the Department for Education to highlight the excellent career paths available to graduates of skills bootcamps as well as how businesses, such as ourselves, are able to harness these from a hiring perspective.
Our CPTO, James Orton, and our Onboarding Executive, Dan Watson, were featured on Talk TV and TalkRadio as part of their “Talking Skills” segment, discussing their experiences of skills bootcamps. It was great to hear how a skills bootcamp transformed Dan’s career personally and also how James has been able to use bootcamp graduates to scale up Wise’s development in the context of a national skills shortage.
New hires
With all the above going on, we’ve also hired 20 new members of staff, creating a brand new team that covers every region of the UK. Our clients will no doubt be hearing much more from these guys in the coming months as they’ll be helping everyone to maximise the benefits of the Wise system!
Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce
We kicked off the year by being shortlisted for the Excellence in Technology & Innovation Award at the 2023 Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Annual Dinner & Awards.
It was an excellent start to 2023 to see all our efforts acknowledged and to be selected alongside some of the industry’s best.
Shortlisted for two awards at the NTAs
A couple of weeks ago, Wise was shortlisted for not one but two categories at The National Technology Awards – Best Tech Place To Work and Tech Growth Business of the Year!
The National Technology Awards are one of the most reputable and well-respected award ceremonies for innovation within the UK, and we’re delighted to be nominated amongst some outstanding firms. Fingers crossed for the ceremony!
Client event, indoor skydiving
We held our second client event of the year at iFLY Indoor Skydiving in Basingstoke. This year, we’re putting a big focus on getting on the road to create amazing events for our clients to experience across the UK.
Period poverty campaign
As the main sponsor of Solihull Moors’ Women’s Team, earlier this year, we teamed up with the club and our neighbours Lil-Lets, to help tackle period poverty across our region.
The campaign provided and continues to provide free sanitary products at their training facility and stadium on match days for both the women’s team and the general public.
We also helped to expand this campaign so that not only will more women feel comfortable, but these essential products will also be available to groups and families that rely on the support of the amazing Moors Foundation.
